Majestic antlers and a spirit made for wide-open country give this Elk Finger Puppet a sense of wilderness and wonder, ready to wander wherever imagination leads. A walk through the woods is full of surprises: a rustle in the leaves, tiny tracks on the trail, or a curious animal peeking through the trees. Our Forest Organic Cotton Finger Puppets invite children to turn those little discoveries into stories and adventures of their own.

Hand-knitted by women artisans in Peru using 100% organic cotton yarn, each puppet is full of handmade charm and personality. Tuck one into a pocket for a nature walk, bring a few along on a camping trip, or create a woodland story at home.

Perfect for curious kids who love animals, exploring outdoors, storytelling, and imaginative play. These pocket-sized forest friends make sweet birthday gifts, stocking stuffers, travel companions, classroom friends, or little surprises for young nature lovers.

Choose this woodland animal or collect a few favorites to create your own forest adventure. Recommended for children ages 3+. Colors and handmade details may vary slightly, making each puppet unique. Price is per finger puppet.

Important Notice for EU Shoppers: These handcrafted toys are made in small batches and do not carry the CE mark. As such, they cannot be sold in regions requiring this certification.

Meet the Women Knitters

In the Andes of Peru, near the shores of Lake Titicaca, knitting is a tradition passed down through generations. Mothers have long knitted warm clothing and small toys for their children.

Today, women artisans hand-knit each tiny finger puppet using a traditional three-needle technique. Their exceptional craftsmanship provides flexible work they can do from home while caring for their families.

No two hands knit quite the same way. Each woman knitter brings her own skill, creativity, and personal touch, making every playful puppet unique while carrying forward a treasured knitting tradition.

Why Storytelling Matters

Stories have long helped children understand the world around them, exploring ideas, relationships and emotions in ways that feel natural and engaging.

When finger puppets become part of story time, children move beyond listening to become active participants while giving voices to characters, retelling favorite tales and creating entirely new adventures of their own. Storytelling can also help foster a love of books and  encourage a passion for reading.

Why Fair Trade Matters

For our team at Lucuma Designs, Fair Trade is more than a business model. It's a way of life that guides our daily decisions and inspires us to keep learning and evolving.

It lives in the relationships we've built over many years with the artist partners we know personally. Together, we've grown through trust and a shared commitment to building sustainable livelihoods and a better future for their families and communities.

Fair Trade is about much more than creating jobs. Through creative collaboration and by encouraging our artist partners to continually refine their craft and excel at what they do, we've built handmade collections our clients have come to trust year after year.

Ultimately, Fair Trade reminds us that business can be a force for good when it's guided by shared values and meaningful connections.

Lucuma Designs has been a proud member of the Fair Trade Federation since 1999.
